Art at the MDHC

Art is an integral aspect of the offerings at the MonDak Heritage Center. During the year, much of our Center and Outer Gallery space is devoted to art shows. This shows feature local artists, travelling collections from the Montana Art Gallery Director's Association and competitions that attract submissions from around the world. The MonDak Heritage Center has several galleries which host upwards of 18 different shows every year. This means that there is always something new and interesting for you to see at the MonDak. Permanent Art Collection

Native son and famed western artist J.K. Ralston is included among the many works found in our permanent art collection. Also at the MonDak is the Charlotte Rees Gabisch Art Library, the most complete art library in the region.

Annual Shows

The MonDak hosts several annual art shows each year, several of which are competitive and open to the public. These include a quilt show, youth art show, and miniatures show, which draws submissions from around the world.

Artist Inquiries

The MonDak Heritage Center welcomes inquiries from artists. If you're interested in showing your work at the MonDak, check here for prospectuses and other information on exhibiting at the MonDak and becoming one of our Featured Artists. Our featured art displays showcase artwork and crafts by area artists from eastern Montana and western North Dakota, along with others all across the country. Shows are varied and can range from traditional painting and sculpture to less traditional poetry and woodworking.
